I have learned a few things with 25+ years of experience in nonprofit administration, human resource management, leadership development, performance training, and coaching and mentoring.

People want to contribute to something bigger than themselves. And they want to show others what they can do -- they want to know their life and work mattered.

Second, your team wants you and your organization to succeed. No one wants to be on a below-average team.

The missing component is strong, capable leadership that creates the environment for everyone to soar beyond expectations.

I've seen extraordinary feats from the most surprising sources when people enter the right environment with the right tools. Unfortunately, the opposite is often the norm. People don't reach their potential or feel fulfilled because they are either in a situation that does not match their true passion and abilities or in an atmosphere that does not provide the ingredients to soar.

Therefore, I decided to direct my strengths, talents, and experience towards the greater good. To help create environments that inspire others to achieve their goals in a life-giving and sustainable manner. My goal is to coach and train those around me to be the best versions of themselves.

To accomplish this goal, I realized I needed to step away from the safety of working for an organization and allow my entrepreneurial wings to grow. I'm a pioneer, determined to make the map for others to use. So, Jim Beaver Coaching was born.

My vision is simple: I live to inspire others to become more than they thought possible so they can do more than they dreamed possible. And along the way, we make the world a better place.

This vision stands on three beliefs:

• Everyone possesses a well of talent and gifts - a potential often beyond the understanding of the individual

• Everyone possesses the ability to achieve dreams that would impact their world

• Everyone has value and deserves the opportunity to achieve their potential

I have spent over 20 years working in a leadership capacity in both the non-profit and government arenas. Responsibilities included developing organizational strategy, identifying vision and mission, acquiring and developing talent (paid and volunteer), fundraising, establishing and maintaining budgets, managing public perception, developing governing boards, meeting facilitation human resources, labor relations with multiple bargaining units, performance management, and more. In addition, I am skilled in facilitating training workshops, retreats, discovery vignettes, and keynotes to large audiences.

Jim holds a BA degree in History and Communication from Cal Poly, SLO; A Master of Science in Management and Leadership from Pepperdine University; A Certificate in Social, Economical & Ethical Responsibility in Business Strategy (SEER) from Pepperdine University; a Certificate in Coaching from iPEC (Institute for Professional and Excellence in Coaching) and an ACC Certificate from the ICF (International Coaching Federation).
